Navigating Leadership: From Boardroom to Academia

My professional journey commenced in the corporate world, where I held senior executive roles, reporting directly to the board. These experiences underscored a critical insight: the higher one ascends in leadership, the scarcer candid feedback becomes. This realization propelled me to create spaces where leaders can openly test ideas, confront dilemmas, and refine their impact before stepping into the spotlight.

Transitioning into academia, I embraced a role that bridges the fast-paced realm of executive decision-making with the reflective depth of organizational research. Since 2014, I have served as a Professor of Management at HTW Berlin, focusing on resistance to change, role theory, and group dynamics. This duality ensures that my coaching is both grounded in real-world experience and enriched by scholarly insight.

Unveiling the Unspoken:
A Systems-Psychodynamic Approach

Diving deep into the hidden dynamics of organizations, I trained at the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, adopting a systems-psychodynamic lens that reveals forces invisible on traditional org charts. Further honing this perspective, I completed the INSEAD Coaching Certificate and pursued executive education at institutions like London Business School, IMD, and the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science.

My coaching methodology is a blend of directive and non-directive approaches, drawing from theories such as neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), Gestalt, provocative therapy, attachment theory, and role theory. This eclectic mix allows for a tailored exploration of the interplay between individuals, their roles, and the broader organizational systems they inhabit.

Transforming Insight into Action: Coaching for Sustainable Change

In our coaching sessions, I provide a confidential and psychologically safe environment where you can explore complex challenges and unearth underlying dynamics. Together, we translate these insights into actionable strategies, initiating small, bold experiments that catalyze both personal growth and organizational energy.

My approach is particularly effective in scenarios involving:

  • Transitioning into senior leadership roles

  • Navigating complex, project-oriented, international environments

  • Operating within bureaucratic, highly structured, and political organizations

  • Managing stress and structuring ambiguous situations

  • Shifting from technical expertise to broader leadership responsibilities

With fluency in both German and English, I offer coaching sessions in Berlin and globally through various video conferencing platforms.
